Joel is Imperial Ridge’s resident white-water expert and deal junkie. He has spent over a decade navigating complex capital transactions, class IV rapids and high alpine lines, guided by a straightforward ethos: Shoot straight, ask for what you deserve, and set realistic expectations. When you’re done, hit the river together, grab a beer and kick around ideas for the next backcountry climb (or investment).

Joel is a lifelong entrepreneur. He started a geothermal drilling company at age 24, propelling him into a decade of work in the clean energy industry. After successfully completing his MBA, he found his stride in commercial real estate lending. Joel holds bachelor’s degrees in both Geophysics and Geology from the University of Minnesota-TC and a master’s degree in Global Energy Management from the University of Colorado Business School.   

In his free time, Joel enjoys white water kayaking, back country skiing, happy hours with good people, and his latest adventure: a recently purchased hospitality investment property in Guanacaste, Costa Rica (coming soon).
